La Porte Ouverte™
The Open Door Program
Because every family deserves a Maison.

Because every family deserves a Maison.

At Maison Cheniah, we believe postpartum support should not be reserved only for families with greater financial resources. La Porte Ouverte™ was created to provide reduced-rate postpartum support for eligible families experiencing financial need. Guests approved for La Porte Ouverte receive the same compassionate, respectful and family-centered care provided throughout Maison Cheniah.

A reduced rate never means reduced care.

How Eligibility Works

Guests requesting La Porte Ouverte™ pricing may be asked to provide reasonable verification of current household income and household size.

Documentation may include a recent pay stub, benefits or award letter, unemployment statement, pension or retirement statement, recent tax documentation, or another reasonable form of income verification.

When traditional documentation does not accurately represent a Guest's current circumstances, alternative documentation may be considered. Maison Cheniah collects only the information reasonably necessary to review eligibility. Approval is not guaranteed and is subject to availability.

Your rate may change. Your care does not.

☀️ La Porte Ouverte — Daytime Maison Care $35/hour | 2-hour minimum

🌙 La Porte Ouverte — Overnight Maison Care $45/hour | 8-hour overnight minimum
This is your accessible version of restorative nighttime support. The goal is very clear: help the household get more rest while baby remains lovingly supported.
Your overnight care may include: newborn soothing and settling diaper changes bottle feeding when appropriate and agreed upon bringing baby to the Guest for breastfeeding/chestfeeding burping and resettling baby afterward washing bottles and pump parts used during the shift maintaining an organized newborn area observing and responding to baby's cues recording feeds, diapers and sleep when requested quiet emotional/recovery support during the night and a morning handoff/update before your Maison care provider leaves.
An 8-hour overnight shift would therefore be $360 at the sliding-scale rate.
Best for: Families experiencing exhaustion, difficult nighttime transitions, limited nighttime support, or who simply need protected restorative sleep during the postpartum period.

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support $0–$500 individualized sliding scale

Les Bras Ouverts provides compassionate support to families experiencing pregnancy loss, stillbirth, infant loss, or the postpartum period following loss. Care is individualized according to the family's circumstances, needs, provider availability, and available program resources.

Support can include emotional companionship, postpartum support following loss, family/partner support, help identifying community and bereavement resources, practical non-medical support, assistance preparing questions for healthcare providers, remembrance and legacy planning when desired, and continued check-ins within the agreed care plan. No family should have to select a predetermined number of hours from a website while they're experiencing a loss.

Their individualized care plan determines the support and approved investment.

💻 La Porte Ouverte — Virtual Maison Support $40/hour

For families who don't necessarily need someone physically in their home but still need professional postpartum guidance and emotional support. Virtual support can include newborn-care questions, feeding guidance within the doula scope, postpartum emotional check-ins, recovery planning, newborn routines and cues, partner/family guidance if applicable, resource navigation, preparing questions for healthcare providers, and general postpartum education.

🏡 Virtual Postpartum Membership $75/month

This deserves its own little card on the website. Before publishing, we should clearly define the boundaries of what's included in the $75 membership—especially how much contact/time is included—so families don't interpret “membership” as unlimited 24/7 support.

Who May Qualify?

I'd accept reasonable income documentation such as a recent pay stub, benefits/award letter, unemployment documentation, pension/retirement statement, tax documentation, or another reasonable method of verification. We can consider alternative documentation when someone's paperwork doesn't accurately reflect their current circumstances.
